Bushfire Recovery and Pandemic Small Grant Program

The 2019/20 Bushfires & Pandemic Small Grant Program was established by Into Our Hands Community Foundation in partnership with the Nelson Alexander Charitable Foundation and other generous donors. Our aim was to support local community organisations and their work in the bushfire recovery and current pandemic period.
The Small Grant program provided up to $3,000 for projects that directly responded to the impacts of the 2019/20 bushfires and the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Closed – Black Saturday Victorian Bushfire Appeal Trust
Into our Hands Community Foundation was established with a capital fund of $1 million from the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund 2012 (VBAF) to help address the needs of communities in the Alpine, Wangaratta and Indigo Shire by supporting medium to long-term recovery projects following the Black Saturday fires of 2009. This Trust provides grants under the strict parameters of the VBAF Trust Fund, the Foundation only supported projects that assist those directly affected by the Beechworth-Mudgegonga Fire Complex.
To date, Into Our Hands Has distributed over $970,000 over 8 years to over 100 community projects in North East Victoria.

Into Our Hands Community Foundation provides grants to support a wide range of local initiatives to develop stronger communities. Our Foundation provides support in the areas of:
- Community development
- Environment
- Arts and culture
- Social services
- Education
- Health
For each grant round, the Foundation may target a priority area or areas within the above scope.
