New Pilot Program for North East Volunteer Groups
Into Our Hands together with Awakened Allies recently held a community workshop to assist in a new volunteering initiative to strengthen our local community groups and not for profits.
Local volunteer and not-for-profit community groups attended to an in-person, interactive workshop on August 26 to help us understand how to grow resilience and sustainability amongst our volunteering groups in our community.
The session was aimed at volunteer boards and committees, service clubs and volunteer managed groups and organisations.
Into Our Hands received grant funding from Jack Brockhoff Foundation allowing the Foundation to run a series of free workshops for volunteer groups which will look at their struggles, what is working and explore modern volunteer frameworks that could strengthen and support volunteer sustainability across Wangaratta
The first workshop was Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre. Volunteer and Community Groups and local not for profits volunteers board are invited to attend.
This session helped in designing a purpose-built localised program that will support volunteers, community groups and service clubs with their ongoing resilience and capacity so that we can keep volunteering active and thriving in our community.
Some of the topics covered on the day were:
§ What causes volunteer burnout, disengagement, and groups with passion to lose their momentum?
§ What do volunteers need to feel valued and to remain engaged?
§ What supports do volunteer groups need to be sustainable?
