Our board
Into Our Hands Community Foundation is governed by an independent board, which is supported by a team of experienced staff.

Matt Joyce (Chair)
Matt Joyce is the Managing Director of WCL Management Service, a leading consultancy specialising in transport and technology solutions for major events and project management.
With a commitment to philanthropy, Matt assumed the role of Chair at Into Our Hands Community Foundation in September 2023.
Matt is also:
- On the board of Northeast Health Wangaratta
- A member of Merriwa Industries’ board.

Fiona Nicholls (Vice Chair)
Fiona joined the board in 2019. She has:
- More than 30 years working in the global resources industry, working across a range of business functions.
- Professional qualifications and experience in sustainable development, environmental management and community development.
- Experience on multiple public and private boards.
- Chair of the Alpine Community Recovery Committee since 2020.

John Bailey (Secretary)
John joined the Into Our Hands Board in 2018 after attending the Annual General Meeting.
With a strong local business and real estate background, John has had:
- A career in body corporate management and real estate.
- Strong background in governance, finance and community networks though his 12 years as a Director of a Industry Superannuation Fund.

Bart Crawley (Treasurer)
Bart joined the board in early 2020. He brings:
- Experience in all aspects of commercial and social purpose organisations.
- A passion for people-centric leadership.
Bart studied business, leading on to a lengthy career in senior leadership in the taxation, business consulting and manufacturing sectors.

Digby Race
Commenced as Board Director in February 2026
Digby has a 30-year research and teaching career at several universities in Australia and internationally. He has also been a senior consultant to evaluate national community and environmental programs, and worked with organisations to develop self-guided evaluation frameworks.
Digby has many years of experience as a trustee of the Wettenhall Environment Trust, a grant-making organisation that supports biodiversity conservation nation-wide. He is also actively involved in operating a small family farm in Wooragee, Indigo Shire, and enjoys contributing to a variety of local organisations that support the health and vitality of the local community.

Georgia Steven
Commenced as Board Director in February 2026
Georgia is a Senior Associate at a boutique law firm working in corporate, commercial and regulatory law, with a particular focus on energy. Georgia has a broad background having worked in litigation and legal policy roles in government as well as in-house legal roles within not for profits and the energy industry. Georgia holds a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor of Law from the University of Melbourne. Georgia grew up in Bright (and Mount Hotham during winters) and later attended high school in Wangaratta. Growing up in regional Victoria instilled a passion for embedding economic sustainability and resilience within local communities and a strong sense of service.

Josie Haddrick
Commenced as Board Director in February 2026.
Josie Haddrick is Director of Philanthropy at La Trobe University, where she leads fundraising, donor engagement and philanthropic partnerships that support research, education and community impact. With more than 18 years of experience across the university and not-for-profit sectors in Australia and the United States, Josie has secured transformational gifts and built strategic partnerships that create lasting social change.
A passionate advocate for regional communities and educational opportunity, Josie is committed to connecting philanthropy with initiatives that improve outcomes for individuals and communities.

Kylie Edmondson
Kylie commenced as Finance and Administration Officer in February 2023 and is currently employed as the Finance and Grants Lead.
She has:
- Completed a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at Monash University
- Over 20 years’ experience in Finance and Business Administration
- Has lived and raised a family in North East Victoria since 2002
- Has volunteered for many local organisations, committees and Boards
