GROW Volunteering

About Grow Volunteering

The GROW Volunteer Resilience and Capacity Program provided community and volunteer supported groups with advice and support to build resilient, strong, and adaptive organisations capable of sustaining their operations and contributing to community recovery efforts.

An initial phase of the program was developed and delivered in 2022, funded by The Jack Brockoff Foundation and Into Our Hands Community Foundation. This first phase aimed to understand the needs of local communities in North East Victoria, such that a tailored and localised program could be developed to support volunteers, community groups and service clubs with their ongoing resilience and capacity. A workshop and consultation process were undertaken through phase one, with a resultant business case produced.

Through the recommendations of the business case, Into Our Hands Community Foundation succeeded in securing funding through FRRR and Emergency Recovery Victoria to deliver the support program over a two-year period, across 2023-2024.

In the first year, the program would support groups in Rural City of Wangaratta and Alpine Shire Council; and in the second year, groups in Indigo and Mansfield Shire. Into Our Hands Community Foundation engaged Alpine Valleys Community Leadership (AVCL) to design and deliver the program.

The delivery of the entire program has now been completed, supporting community groups based in the Alpine Shire, Rural City of Wangaratta (RCOW), Indigo Shire and Mansfield Shire.
