IOHCF Board Director Recruitment

Are you passionate about the future of the North East and believe in the power of community?

Into Our Hands Community Foundation (IOHCF) is seeking an experienced, community-minded individual to join our ambitious volunteer Board.

IOHCF attracts, grows and stewards resources – from within and beyond the North East – to enable community-led decision making and grantmaking for strengthened, connected communities now and in the future across Alpine, Indigo and Mansfield Shires, and the Rural City of Wangaratta. Established in 2012 in the aftermath of the Black Saturday Bushfires, IOHCF currently stewards $750,000 in community funds with ambitions to grow to $10 million in the coming years. To date, on behalf of the community, we have proudly distributed over $1.65 million in grants to over 250 community organisations.

We are actively seeking individuals who share our passion for making a positive impact and can offer fresh perspectives and expertise to our Board.

In addition to relevant experience you may have expertise in the following areas:

• Strategy and Business Development

• Grantmaking and Philanthropy

• Community Engagement

• Investment and Financial Management

Garry Nash & Co Gives Generously

The Garry Nash & Co. Community Fund has recently awarded multiple grants across Wangaratta to deserving community organisations and non-profits.

Eleven local organisations are set to benefit in over $14,000 worth of funding from Garry Nash & Co. Community Fund this autumn following a recent grant round supporting local charitable projects and community organisations.

The funding will support projects including children’s cultural activities for Indigenous children in out of home care, a driving lesson program for culturally and linguistically diverse women, and new fire-fighting equipment for the Everton CFA volunteers – just to name some of the successful grant recipients.

The grants were made possible thanks to generous donations from Garry Nash & Co. Real Estate directors, clients and staff who are working to build their community fund to support important causes across Wangaratta for the long term.

GIVE Wangaratta Signature Event Pitch Up raises $100K

Big Brothers, Big Sisters, NE Tracks LLEN, NESAY benefit from GIVE Wangaratta Pitch Up Event

THREE Wangaratta and North East community organisations have received a share in more than 100,000 as part of the latest GIVE Wangaratta Pitch Up fundraising event.

Organisations Big Brothers Big Sisters Wangaratta received $47,200, NE Tracks LLEN received $25,600 and NESAY $27,500, much to the delight of the recipients and the audience. Held at the Wangaratta Performing Arts and Convention Centre (WPACC), generous locals dug deep to make the programs a reality and enhance and enrich the lives of young people in the North East region. Into Our Hands Foundation chair Ruth Kneebone said ticket sales had been strong since they went on sale.

“There were 115 attendees, which was marvellous, and each came with a positive and generous mindset,” Ruth said. “As the night evolved, personal stories mixed with good humour and wit gathered momentum and drove the giving to totals beyond our expectations. “We were absolutely thrilled for the three pitching charities that will now progress confidently to deliver their projects.
